BASF Corporation has received a patent for a curable, water-based coating composition comprised of the reaction product of a water-dispersible cross-linking agent; and a water-based copolymer prepared by free-radical polymerization and comprising the reaction product of; a first block comprising the reaction product of; a plurality of ethylenically unsaturated monomers wherein at least one monomer of the plurality includes a functional group suitable for reaction with the cross-linking agent, and a vinylaromatic hydrocarbon monomer; and a second block comprising the reaction product of; a non-functional, ethylenically unsaturated monomer.
